Plus, with StarOffice you've got a great drawing/image editing program, Draw,which goes way beyond the minor tools you get in Microsoft Office. If you're anMS Office user, you'll still have to do some learning, but you'll havelots of "Oh, this is the same" moments. Going from Microsoft Office to StarOffice or StarOfficeand are somewhat similar to Microsoft Office. What each one costs StarOffice is $75, is free. Sun took StarOffice, gave the sourcecode to the community, and then kept developing StarOfficethemselves. StarOffice and StarOffice and are twovery similar versions of the same software. Notonly do you get the ability to open and edit all the files Microsoft does, butyou get a whole lot more. Your old AmiPro and Interleaf andWordPerfect files, GIFs and SVG and PNG graphics—just about anything. Goes beyond Microsoft Office In addition, StarOffice open over 200 other formats. You cancreate a new Microsoft text document, spreadsheet, or set of slides without everusing Microsoft. And you can save any file in any of those formats, too.
